Golden Horizon

“Golden Horizon” is an original oil painting on a round canvas with a diameter of 40 cm. The circular format reflects the calm and endless feeling of looking out toward the horizon.

This painting was inspired by a sunset I experienced in Reykjavík by the ocean. As the sun was slowly setting, the sky turned into warm golden and soft blue tones, reflecting gently on the water. The moment felt very peaceful and quiet.

While I was enjoying the view, I noticed a lonely goose sitting by the shoreline, as if it was watching the sunset as well. Because the light was fading and the evening was almost turning into night, I could mostly see only the silhouette of the bird against the glowing horizon. That simple and quiet moment became the inspiration for this painting.
