Soft Horizon

“Soft Horizon” is an oil painting on canvas (120 × 80 cm) inspired by the extraordinary landscapes of Landmannalaugar in the Icelandic Highlands. The painting was created after a summer hike through this unique region, where the mountains seem almost unreal because of their incredible natural colors.

Landmannalaugar is famous for its vibrant rhyolite mountains, where shades of blue, green, pink, red, and soft whiteblend together across the landscape. These rich and unusual colors create a place that feels almost dreamlike, yet it is completely real.

This artwork was inspired by the moment of standing in that vast and quiet environment, surrounded by majestic mountains and endless horizons. Through “Soft Horizon,” I wanted to preserve the beauty and atmosphere of that place — a landscape that feels both powerful and peaceful at the same time.
