Still is an oil painting on wood, measuring 30 x 40 cm and presented in a handmade oak frame. It portrays a quiet fragment of Vatnajökull glacier in Iceland, the largest glacier in Europe.
The surface appears calm and motionless at first glance, inviting a sense of pause and silence. Yet this stillness is only apparent. Beneath the frozen calm, the glacier is slowly moving and changing through time and melting. The painting reflects on the contrast between what seems unchanged and what is constantly transforming, asking the viewer to linger in the moment and reflect on the subtle movement hidden within stillness.
