Where the Water Hides
Where the Water Hides is a painting on canvas, measuring 24 × 30 cm, in a handmade oak frame.
The work depicts Kvernufoss, a lesser-known waterfall in the south of Iceland, often described as a hidden treasure. Reaching it requires a quiet walk through paths and rocky formations, where the sound of water appears before the waterfall itself. Nestled between rugged cliffs, Kvernufoss reveals itself gradually, as if protected by the surrounding stones.
This painting captures the feeling of arrival, of discovering something concealed and untouched. The waterfall seems to emerge from the rocks rather than dominate them, inviting the viewer into a more intimate encounter with nature. Where the Water Hides speaks of patience, exploration, and the quiet reward found in places that are not immediately visible, but deeply memorable.
